Cairo Governor inspects development project of Andalus Park

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inspected Monday the ongoing restoration of the Andalus Park located in Corniche El-Nil, El-Gezira.

During his tour, Abdel Aal pointed out that the Andalus Park is the first park listed as a monument in Egypt, and it marks good memories for many generations. The park consists of Al-Gezira, Al-Andalus, and the Pharaonic garden.

Moreover, Abdel Aal added that the restoration work, carried out by a company specialized in restoration, is under the supervision of the Ministry of Antiquities and funded by the Housing Directorate of Cairo governorate.

The park was neglected for a long time, pushing the Cairo governorate to draw up a plan to develop and restore it as part of the state’s effort to preserve and revive heritage.

The restoration work includes developing the infrastructure, repairing the irrigation network in the garden, fixing the fountain drainage. It also includes the renovation of the statues inside the park and the cobra statues in the Pharaonic Garden section of the park.
