Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inspected districts and squares of the west area, including Abbasia, Ramses, Abdel Moneim Riyad Squares, and the 6th October Bridge after heavy rains hit Cairo on Friday, December 31.
During his tour, the governor directed districts’ chiefs to check all street lighting poles to fix any exposed cables and wires to ensure citizens’ safety.
Moreover, the governor stressed the necessity to dispatch emergency teams and equipment to handle any urgent situation through the coordination between districts, Holding Company for Water and Waste Water, Civil Protection Units, and General Department of Cairo Traffic.
The governor also urged to implement the governorate’s plan to dispatch vacuum trucks in Cairo’s main axes and streets to remove any accumulated rainwater to avoid traffic congestion.
