Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inspected Thursday some districts in South Cairo, including Mokattam, Basatin, El-Khalifa, and Masr El-Qadima, to follow up on the ongoing development work in the area.
Moreover, Abdel Aal inspected several new road axes established by the state to connect East and South Cairo to ease traffic congestion, including Samira Mousa and Hasb Allah El-Kafrawi Axes.
During his tour, Abdel Aal also followed up on the ongoing development work of Yasser Rizq Axis, implemented by the state with a length of 7 km to link the Downtown area and Salah Salem Road to the Mokattam Hills.
The axis also connects the Mosheer and the Civilization Axes in the Fustat area with Corniche El-Nil and links the neighbourhood to the Ring Road and the Autostrad.
Furthermore, Abdel Aal affirmed that the ongoing development work comes within the framework of the state’s efforts to link the road axes of South and East Cairo to reduce traffic congestion in the capital and ease citizens’ commutes across the city.
Abdel Aal was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor for south area Eng. Jihan Abdel Moneim, Assistant Secretary-General Ibrahim Awad, and several executives of Cairo Governorate.
