The Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi and Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal witnessed Friday the 2022 Cairo Marathon organized by Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports in cooperation with ievents and Cairo Runners companies in the Masr El-Gadidah neighborhood. More than 5000 runners of different ages and people with disabilities participated in the 21-km marathon.
Abdel Aal thanked the Minister of Youth and Sports for his keenness to hold many sports events regularly to encourage all parts of society to practice sports and maintain physical fitness, in addition to stressing the importance of protecting and improving public health in line with Egypt’s political leadership interest in promoting sports and encouraging talents in all kind of sports, whether individual or team.
Moreover, Abdel Aal pointed out that the marathon coincides with the 117th anniversary of establishing the Masr El-Gadidah district, and it will be held periodically.
