Egypt to see warm days, cold nights this week

Warm weather will prevail over all areas across Egypt during daytime this week, but cold will continue through nighttime, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said.

The country will see a gradual rise in temperatures by three to five degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday, the EMA said.

Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, northwestern coasts, north Upper Egypt, and South Sinai will see warm days, while hot weather will prevail over south Upper Egypt.

Sunday will see dusty winds in areas of Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, north coasts, north Upper Egypt, and Sinai, the EMA said.

Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will see highs of 21-27 degrees Celsius and lows of 10-13 degrees until next Thursday.

Egypt is nearing the spring season, which is typically warm but also known for variable weather and strong sandstorms.

This especially includes the sand-filled “Khamasin” windstorms that hit Egypt and the Levant in Spring that reduce visibility and negatively impact people suffering from allergies or respiratory diseases.
