Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour has discussed with Head of the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Sciences in Arab States Nuria Sanz mechanisms of cooperation in areas of higher education, scientific research and innovation.
Ashour said in a statement that his ministry prioritizes supporting study programs and carrying out mutual research projects with a view to realizing Egypt Vision 2030 and the sustainable development strategy.
The ministry is also keen to
cooperate with different ministries and various economic sectors to meet
development needs of the society, he added.
In this regard, he noted that the higher education ministry has so far opened 10 technology universities and worked on establishing a technology university in each governorate.
Meanwhile, Sanz lauded cooperation between UNESCO and the higher education ministry, stressing the importance of collaboration among higher education institutions to encourage women and girls to study sciences.
