Egypt’s Interior Ministry launches mobile units to renew car licenses at LE400 cost

Egyptian Interior Ministry said on Wednesday it has launched a service worth LE400 to issue car licenses or renew at your doorstep or in five governorates as a first stage.

The ministry said that this comes as part of its plan to provide all services to the public in an easy way.

It added that Traffic Departments began licensing technical examination of cars by operating mobile technology centers for traffic services in the governorates of Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Aswan and Matrouh, in order to provide traffic services for owners of cars up to 2000 cc.

Cars with a capacity of more than 2000 cc will issue and renew licenses from their traffic units.

The same applies to obtaining a driver’s license for the first time, as obtaining a license requires passing a driving test carried out in the traffic unit.

The hotline number 15558 has also been established to request the service, with plans for an application for mobile phones through which users can request the service and mobile unties transfers to individuals in their places of residence, industrial facilities and educational facilities.

The actual operation of the service was of Sunday, February 20, in the five governorates throughout the week, starting from 10 am until 10 pm, in preparation for its spread in all governorates, in a paperless process and electronic payment.
