Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli participated in Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, said the Cabinet in a statement.
After the funeral, Madbouli wrote a message in the condolence book of the queen, affirming Egypt’s support to the British people during this current sad moment.
“On behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the people and the government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, I extend sincerest condolences to King Charles III over the death of Queen Elizabeth II,” Madbouli wrote in the book.
“The Egyptian people stand by the people of Britain in this sad moment and wish [the British people] continued development and prosperity,” he added.
Around 2,000 guests, including 500 world leaders and foreign officials, gathered in London’s Westminster Abbey today to bid farewell to late Queen Elizabeth, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.
