During the meeting, Abdel Aal emphasized that no student will be banned from attending classes for not paying tuition fees following the instructions of political leadership, urging that all students receive all textbooks before the beginning of the new year.
Abdel Aal further directed education directors to conduct daily field inspections from the first day of the school year until the last one.
Moreover, Abdel Aal stressed the necessity for spreading awareness about anti-Covid-19 measures at schools and urges full coordination between Education Directorate, districts’ chiefs, and Cairo Cleaning Authority to remove any occupancies or vendors within schools’ premises.
Abdel Aal also stressed the role of school principals in keeping classes clean, maintaining students’ hygiene, increasing green spaces, painting schools’ fences, trimming trees inside and outside school premises, and repairing power poles within schools. In addition, he directed school officials to clean water tanks to ensure the safety of students and teachers.
Abdel Aal also urged to check safety factors ahead of the new year, including fire taps and necessary water connections.
For his part, Director of Education Directorate Mohammad Atia pointed out that Cairo has 5660 schools with 59713 classes accommodating 2.5 million students at different education stages.
