Egypt's World Youth Forum launches new version of its application

Egypt’s World Youth Forum (WYF) has launched a new version of its mobile phone application that provides updates about the forum and allows live interaction during its events, which will launch on 10 January in the city of Sharm El-Sheikh, the WYF announced on Monday.

The updated version of the WYF application is currently available on Apple Store and Google Play, or it can be downloaded from https://register.wyfegypt.com/download-app

The application shares WYF news and updates as well as the forum’s agenda and schedule for this year, including its events and speakers. It also allows users from around the world to comment and send questions live during the sessions.

The fourth edition of the WYF, which was postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic, will be held from 10 to 13 January 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh under the patronage of Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.

To curb the spread of the coronavirus, the WYF’s organizers have decided to reduce the number of participants in the upcoming edition and allow only vaccinated people to attend the event.

The forum’s main themes this edition are post-COVID impacts, climate change, social security, human rights, entrepreneurship, technology, 5G networks, digital transformation, distance learning, the environment, and the future of energy, according to the WYF website.

The last edition of the forum discussed a number of key topics, including the Fourth Industrial Revolution, food security, the Union for the Mediterranean, and environmental challenges.

The WYF is an international annual event that was first launched in 2017.
