President Abdel Fattah El Sisi called for conducting a regular detailed review of all technical and construction works related to the Decent Life initiative for the development of the Egyptian countryside, with the help of renowned specialized consulting offices, to ensure high level of performance and implementation in accordance with modern standards for all sectors of the initiative.
The president’s remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday with Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli and Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
The president also reviewed a number of projects being carried out by the Ministry of Electricity nationwide, especially with regard to the “Decent Life” initiative to develop the villages of the Egyptian countryside, in addition to the developments of al-Dabaa nuclear plant and power interconnection projects with neighboring countries.
For his part, Minister Shaker presented the results of his recent visit leading a high-level delegation to Russia as part of joint co-operation between the two countries to establish Dabaa nuclear plant as he inspected production lines and reviewed the stages of manufacturing heavy equipment.
Minister Shaker also reviewed the executive position of the national strategy for green hydrogen using renewable energy in co-operation with long-standing international expertise in this field in order to benefit from the multiple sources of renewable energy that Egypt enjoys, especially wind and solar energy. This comes as part of the state’s plan to diversify sources of energy supply and to enhance Egypt’s position as a major regional center for energy trading.
The president directed that the green hydrogen national strategy projects include technical training centres for capacity building in the fields of operation and maintenance as well as research and development centres in co-operation with various research institutes and centres in Egypt.
