President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday 28/2/2021 followed up measures taken to resume the second academic term at the different universities, urging firm commitment to guarantee the safety of students.
Sisi, in a meeting with Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli and Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, reviewed a study to establish an Egyptian genome center, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.
The center should be concerned with outlining a human genome map to serve as a reference about genetics of the different diseases, Radi added.
The meeting also took up national projects of the Higher Education Ministry, which, according to Minister Abdel Ghaffar, are estimated to cost some 35 billion pounds allocated for 27 government universities across Egypt.
Sisi also stressed the need to upgrade educational and research services in those universities.
