Egypt records 291 new COVID infection cases, 7 deaths

The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population announced on Wednesday that 543 people recovered from the Corona virus were discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical care.

 

This brings the total of those recovered from the virus to 239,886 as of Wednesday.
 
 

Dr. Khaled Megahed, the official spokesperson for the Health Ministry, stated that 291 new cases tested positive for the virus, as part of the necessary surveillance procedures conducted by the ministry in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization. He added that 7 new deaths were reported.

 
 

Megahed stated that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus until Wednesday, is 288,732, including 239,886 cases that have been cured, and 16,743 deaths.

 
 

Egypt has announced it has entered the fourth wave of Coronavirus as infection rates climbed up. The Ministry of Health also announced that five different vaccines are now available in nearly 539 vaccine centers across the country against coronavirus.

 
 

The Ministry explained that all of the five vaccines have emergency approvals from the Egyptian Medicines Authority. The vaccines are: Sputnik V, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Johnson& Johnson and Sinovac.

 
 

The Ministry of Health and Population continues to raise its preparations in all governorates of the Republic, follow up on the situation first-hand regarding the virus, and take all necessary preventive measures.

 
 

Adviser to Egyptian President for health and preventive affairs Mohamed Taj el-Din stated that the fourth wave of Coronavirus has started in Egypt, expecting no soon end to the pandemic in the coming years.
