President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi instructed the expansion of vaccination campaigns for citizens against coronavirus and the facilitation of procedures to access vaccines.
This comes in light of the recent increase of vaccines into Egypt and a continuous flow of all of the different types.
In a meeting held with Adviser to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, Mohammed Awad Tag Eddin, the continuation awareness programs stated that this campaign is for all categories of citizens to be administered with the vaccine.
This is in the hope that precautionary measures be taken to prevent infection of the virus, especially in crowded places, such as government facilities, universities and schools.
The meeting followed up the current epidemiological situation of the spread of coronavirus nationwide as well as a review of measures taken by the government to contain the spread of the virus. The vaccination campaigns are for the safety of the public, official spokesperson for the presidency Bassam Rady stated.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that the frequency of vaccinations against the coronavirus will increase during the coming period with the expansion of vaccination centers. It added that 40 million citizens have been vaccinated with either the first or second dose.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, stressed the need for continued coordination and joint follow-up between the Ministries of Higher Education and Health in completing the vaccination plan for citizens.
He referred to providing more fixed and mobile vaccination centers to facilitate citizens’ access to the vaccine, and providing isolation places, intensive care and emergency services necessary to follow up on cases of infection with the virus.
