Hosni revealed the beginning of the arrival of the 40 million doses of the
coronavirus vaccine from the International Vaccine Alliance "Gavi",
where 5.8 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine will arrive on March 30.
"100 percent of the Ministry of Health staff will receive vaccination against the coronavirus next May, and starting from April 1, citizens who registered their data on the ministry's website will be vaccinated," he added.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that the number of citizens who have received the Corona vaccine so far has reached 27,000 people out of a total of 500,000 citizens who have registered on the site to receive vaccinations so far. The Ministry of Health added that the ministry has so far received nearly 700,000 doses of the Corona vaccine from Sinopharm and AstraZeneca.
Hosni confirmed that the AstraZeneca vaccine is being tested in Egypt by the Egyptian Medicines Authority before being used with the public and that Egypt has worked to provide the safest vaccines, which are the Chinese vaccine Sinopharma and the AstraZeneca vaccine.
He also noted an increase in the number of infections is expected during the coming period due to the expectation of the third wave of the coronavirus during the month of April.
He stressed that upon entering the third wave, a massive number of citizens from the elderly and people with chronic diseases will have been vaccinated against the virus, and this will ensure that deaths do not increase.
