As many as 800,000 citizens have received integrated services cards during the 1st phase of a national integrated service e-system for people with disabilities, Health and Population Minister Hala Zayed said Sunday.
Zayed made the remarks during a press conference with Minister of Social Solidarity Niven El-Qabbag to launch the 2nd phase of the e-system, a step Zayed touted as a significant shift in the life of people with disabilities in Egypt.
It also is an integral part of the set of human rights enshrined in Egypt's first human rights strategy launched by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi earlier this year, Zayed noted.
The system seeks to streamline and facilitate access of persons with disabilities to basic healthcare and social services.
