Sisi issues decree establishing Egypt University of Informatics in New Administrative Capital

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has issued a decree establishing the Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) in the New Administrative Capital, a statement by Minister of Communication and Information Technology Amr Talat said on Tuesday.

The decree makes EUI the first university specialized in communications and information technology in Africa and the Middle East, Talat added.

Via its partnership with the Purdue and Minnesota universities, EUI allows students to gain a bachelor’s or master’s degree from one of these two universities by studying at Misr Informatics University for three years and then traveling to study the last year abroad.

EUI has faculties of Engineering, Computing and Information Sciences, Business Informatics and Digital Arts and Design.

Minister Talat said the decision reflects the vision of the political leadership and the state's efforts to create a new generation of information experts and raise the standards of education in the field of communication and information technology.
