UN adopts Egypt’s proposal on human fraternity int’l day

The United Nations General Assembly has unanimously approved a proposal submitted by Egypt and the UAE to mark February 4 as an international day of human fraternity.

The foreign ministry said on Monday that the Egyptian mission to the UN in New York managed to win support for the resolution in cooperation with the UAE and in coordination with a number of other countries.

February 4 was chosen to honor that day when then Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together was signed between Vatican’s Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed el-Tayeb during a Global Conference on the topic in Abu Dhabi.
