President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a telephone call from his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said on Sunday 13/ 12/ 2020.
The two leaders discussed means of boosting bilateral cooperation, particularly at the military and security levels, Rady said, adding they also talked about efforts to fight terrorism in the Sahel region.
Sisi and Ghazouani also talked about economic cooperation and joint investments, as well as trade exchange between their countries, Rady said.
The conversation also tackled the crisis in Libya and its repercussions for the national security of both Egypt and Mauritania, the spokesman added.
The two leaders stressed keenness on reaching a political solution to the crisis in Libya; one that would pave the way for restoring security and stability there, Rady further said.
They also discussed efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus and agreed on exchanging expertise about preventive measures, Radi added.
