Minister Hala Zayed asserted on Sunday 25/10/2020 the depth of historical and
deeply-rooted relations binding Egypt and Italy, noting that the two countries'
partnership paves the way for a more fruitful cooperation in all fields.
The minister's remarks were made during her meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and Minister of International Cooperation Luigi Di Maio following her participation in an international forum to enhance cooperation in the field of health care, which opened in Rome on October 22. Health ministers of Italy, Tunisia, Iraq, Kurdistan Region and Kenya and GK Investment Holding Group are attending the forum.
During the meeting, Zayed shed light on the close cooperation between Egypt and Italy in the most critical times of countering the spread of coronavirus, highlighting the support and directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in this regard.
A statement released by the Health Ministry on Sunday said that Zayed explained how the coronavirus pandemic uncovered the strength and weakness of the health care systems worldwide, a matter which has an impact on the international economic growth.
She also pointed out to the importance of consolidating efforts among various countries amid such unexpected health crisis, which has brought to light the need for beefing up cooperation among the international community, rebuilding the world economy as well as introducing more just and comprehensive health care systems.
