Egypt's Drug Authority: Medical supplies used in coronavirus treatment protocol secured

The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) announced on Wednesday that it has secured the needs of the local medicine market in terms of medical supplies used under the coronavirus treatment protocol.

 

EDA spokesperson Ali El-Ghamrawy said that the authority coordinated with several local pharmaceutical companies to secure raw materials and pharmaceutical preparations used in the treatment protocols guided by consumption rates during the earlier peak of the virus spread.

 

El-Ghamrawy revealed that there is a continuous periodic follow up with the cabinet, and that monthly reports are sent with the quantities of the coronavirus treatment protocol medicine which is pumped into the market.

 

The EDA pumped in to the market 12 million bottles of the azithromycin pill, nearly 1,900,000 bottles of azithromycin oral suspension, 24,600,000 bottles of Paracetamol tablets, and nearly 1,900,000 bottles of Paracetamol oral suspension, stated El-Ghamrawy.

 

He added that the EDA also pumped 14,500,000 push through packets of Zinc vitamin, and nearly 22,000,000 vitamin C push through packets, it also secured five effective pharmaceutical raw materials which are used to manufacture Remdesivir that is used in treating coronavirus.
