Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday urged
the government to continue developing the governance of the electricity
services system, in a way that ensures containing the increase in electricity
consumption and improve the service provided.
Sisi’s directives come in harmony with mechanization and the use of smart and prepaid meters to improve tariffs collection mechanisms and develop services, said Presidential spokesman Bassam Radi.
The remarks came as the President met on Wednesday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker.
The meeting reviewed the status of the national projects in the field of electricity, said the spokesman.
The President was briefed on the efforts to develop the infrastructure of the national electricity networks, including power generation and production stations, distribution networks and supplying residential units and other buildings with electricity.
