Egypt’s
Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr.Hala El-Said agreed to
reinforce the Ministry of Transport’s plan for the fiscal year 2020/2021with an
amount of 1 billion EGP to complete the implementation phases of the project to
develop the ring road around Greater Cairo to end on time.
El-Said said that the approval of the amount came to implement the decisions of the Cabinet issued regarding the position of implementing the projects of the Ministry of Transport, and following the directives of the political leadership on the necessity of taking the necessary measures to complete the project to develop the Ring Road around Greater Cairo.
El-Said stressed that the state is taking serious and rapid steps in developing and implementing road and bridge projects that contribute to reducing traffic congestion in Cairo streets, especially the internal streets. She added that the development of the Ring Road aims to raise the level of road service, by implementing expansion works to make the road expand to receive more cars.
El-Said pointed out the interest of the political leadership in the speedy completion of the implementation of the ring road, stressing the keenness of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development to provide the necessary support to complete the road.
