Cairo Governor orders crackdown on markets, shops, restaurants

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal urged the Director of the Supply Directorate to intensify crackdowns on markets, shops, restaurants, and outlets selling medical supplies and protective gear in coordination with districts' chiefs and Supply Directorate, stressing the necessity to continue the process of market and price control to ensure the consumer protection from commercial fraud and trade exploitation.     

 

On the other hand, Director of the Supply and Internal Trade Directorate Ibrahim Askalani announced that the crackdown launched by the directorate in several districts in Cairo seized 35k medical masks of unknown origin and 858 liters of alcohol at two warehouses selling detergents and disinfectants.

 

He added that the crackdown also confiscated 2520 bottles of vinegar of unknown origin, 40 tons of bleach, and 1500 cigarette packs of unknown origin.
