Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inspected on Monday demolition works of the Shamal El-Herafin informal area in Monshaet Naser district by the executive bodies of Cairo governorate. The governor said that the Shamal El-Herafin informal area is one of the unsafe areas noting that the residents of the demolished buildings would be relocated in the new Asmarat housing project as part of the state’s plan to upgrade informal settlements in Egypt.
Furthermore, the governor emphasized that executive bodies are working to eliminate all informal settlements in Cairo by the end of this year in line with President Sisi's instructions and to provide the residents with decent life and appropriate housing units.
The governor was accompanied by Deputy Governor of Cairo Mr. Ibrahim Abdel Hadi, Director of Cairo’s utilities police, and Chief of Monshaet Naser district.
