The
Cabinet media center on Monday refuted news about imposing a new increase on
the value added tax.
In a statement, the cabinet information center said it contacted the Ministry of Finance to verify the news, adding that the ministry refuted the news. It added that no new increase has been imposed on the value added tax whether on food commodities or other commodities.
Some food stuff are listed among items excluded from the value added tax, the ministry said.
