All archaeological sites and museums reopened to the public
on September 1, ministry of Tourism and Antiquities attached great importance
to applying the set precautionary measures in museums and archaeological sites
to ensure the health and safety of visitors and workers.
In the next lines, Egypt today monitored these health controls:
Archaeological sites and museums must be sterilized daily before they are opened to visitors, under the supervision of a team of restorers and antiquities inspectors.
The temperature of museum workers is measured daily and the temperature of the visitors is measured before the visit. The Ministry of Health and Population should be notified of any suspected case of Coronavirus.
Posters should be placed on the ground to mark where visitors will park to maintain safe distances between people.
Personal protective equipment such as disinfection and sterilization equipment, masks, etc. must be provided to all workers.
Workers and visitors must be committed to wearing masks during working hours and those who suffer symptoms should go on a sick leave.
Employees must be acquainted with all information related to the emerging coronavirus and its symptoms, as well as all the preventive measures that must be followed to prevent infection.
Safe distances must be maintained with isolation areas provided for infected cases if they appear. The number of tourist groups should not exceed 25 until further notice.
The tour guide must wear the mask during the explanation, with the use of headphones, as that must be sterilized after each use. Tourism companies must provide masks for tourists and their companions.

Only 10 to 15 visitors are allowed at a time to visit a pyramid or an archaeological cemetery from the inside (depending on the area of the monument). Schools and universities are required to notify archaeological sites and museums 48 hours before the date of their trips, provided that the number of students does not exceed 15 people with each supervisor, and no more than 5 trips are permitted per day.
