Cairo districts launch crackdown on cafes violating preventive measures

Following the instructions of Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal, the districts of Maadi, Wast Al-Qahira, Al-Zaitoun, Boulaq, and El-Azbakia ordered surprising crackdowns on cafes to ensure their commitment to the preventive measures taken by the state to stop the spread of COVID-19 pandemic including the ban of shisha and operating at a capacity of 25%.

The crackdown led to the sealing and closure of several cafes violating the orders in Al-Zaitoun district, Azbakia district, and Wast Al-Qahira district.

Moreover, the authorities in Maadi district confiscated shishas from cafes violating the government's ban on shishas and deposited them in the district's warehouse. They also sealed a gym for violating the preventive measures.
