Emigration
Minister Nabila Makram met Tuesday with Minister of Military Production Mohamed
Morsy to discuss preparations for an “Egypt Can with Industry” conference.
Markam said she is pleased to work with Morsy in organizing the sixth edition
of the “Egypt Can” conferences, the Military Production Ministry is indeed a
major partner in such events, Makram said, praising efforts exerted by Morsy to
render them successful.
Previous successful editions have encouraged the Emigration Ministry to
organize this conference, which will focus on development and investment issues
in line with Egypt’s 2030 vision, she proudly spoke of expats who showed
willingness to share their expertise with Egypt.
It is important to attract migrant Egyptian brains to contribute to
manufacturing alternative products that would help replace imports, Makram
noted, this also involves sorting inputs of production to study how to
manufacture products locally, she said, Makram added that joint working teams
should be formed to study needs and outline mechanisms of implementation.
This conference will serve as a platform grouping Egyptian men of industry and
production abroad with representatives of Egyptian state institutions and
bodies concerned with local manufacturing, the minister noted.
Morsy, for his part, said his Ministry is an important industrial arm of Egypt,
not to mention its essential role in military industry.
The “Egypt Can” conferences constitute a true model of cooperation and
integration among the different state bodies, Morsy said, he expressed hope that this edition would be successful as the previous ones.
Such conferences are meant to link Egyptian expats with their homeland,
counting on their innovations and creative ideas that certainly help give the
different sectors in Egypt a shot in the arm, Morsy noted.
He made it clear that the Military Production Ministry is willing to share all
its potentials to serve this important event, which he called a promising
opportunity to review capabilities of the Egyptian industry and attract
investments of expats.
