Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal and CEO of the Informal Settlement Development Fund Khaled Sediq signed on Sunday a contract to develop El-Tibi informal area (Rawdet El-Sayeda 2) in El-Sayeda Zeinab district at a cost of LE 500 million.
The governor said that this contract comes as part of the state's national plan and in line with political leadership's directives to eradicate unsafe informal areas and relocate its residents to more safe houses and provide a decent life. He added that the project is consistent with Fatimid Cairo's urban design and would provide housing units of different sizes to meet the citizens' needs.
Moreover, the governor said that the El-Tibi area's ongoing development project would not only provide a decent life to the residents but also revive Cairo's historic districts. He added that the project would take 18 months and would include 700 housing units, 50 commercial units, a police station, nursery, and public parks and spaces on an area of 10.5 acres.
On his part, Khaled Sadiq said that there is a vision of urban transformation in the capital to highlight its historic features to create a new environment for citizens pointing out that there are several development projects in El-Sayeda Zeinab district.
