Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal instructed on Sunday Director of the Education Directorate to speed up the preparations of the new academic year 2020/2021 stressing the necessity of applying all the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the state to curb the spread of the COVID-19 and to ensure the safety of students.
For his part, Director of the Education Directorate Mohammad Attia said that all schools across Cairo would be sterilized and disinfected continuously ahead of the new academic year as well as providing disinfectants and hand sanitizers in all toilets. He added that all students' desks would be rearranged to maintain proper distancing.
Moreover, students will get their temperature checked before entering school, and all students must wear face masks and practice social distancing during school activities.
Attia said that several workshops and awareness seminars would be held for teachers and workers.
