The Ministry of Planning has applied a new electronic
system, the first in Egypt to assess government performance.
It is a quarterly assessment that is based on strategic performance indicators,
said Planning Minister Hala el Saeid, the system allows decision makers to
follow up the implementation of all programs and plans through measurable
digital criteria, Saeid added.
She said that her Ministry had designed the national electronic system for
monitoring and evaluation, which is based on unified and binding tools meant to
upgrade government performance and ensure targets are met, under this system,
budgeting is also performance-based, thus any wage increase is directly linked
with production levels.
The new system also helps achieve coordination among the different ministries
and bodies to guarantee effective public spending and to improve the quality of
services offered to citizens
