Counselor Mahmoud Ibrahim Abou El-Dahab, President of the State Council and President of the Supreme Administrative Court, announced an increase in the number of chambers at the Supreme Administrative Court, bringing the total number of chambers to 12 as of the new judicial year, which begins at the start of next October.
The President of the State Council affirmed that the Supreme Administrative Court’s General Assembly’s approval of the proposal to increase the number of chambers came in accordance with the plan to develop the judicial work system that he is working to implement. The plan aims to accelerate the pace of reviewing and adjudicating appeals in a manner that contributes to achieving expeditious justice, which is at the top of his priorities and objectives, thereby contributing to the swift administration of justice and reducing the burdens on litigants.
He said that the increase in the number of chambers comes in light of the requirements of the work, particularly the Tax and Fees Chamber, and the increase in the number of appeals brought before the Supreme Administrative Court. He stressed that adjudicating appeals within reasonable timeframes—without delay—is dictated by the urgent necessity, without compromising the established guarantees of justice in the State Council’s jurisprudence, as the fundamental aim is to achieve justice and ensure fairness for rights holders.
The President of the State Council commended the strenuous efforts made by the judges of the Supreme Administrative Court during the past judicial year in upholding the truth and ensuring fairness for rights holders. He said: “You have always demonstrated your dedication and commitment to adjudicating the appeals brought before you with impartiality and objectivity, carrying the banner of justice with integrity and responsibility, under working conditions that require the utmost levels of concentration and dedication.”
The General Assembly of the Supreme Administrative Court held its meeting the day before yesterday to distribute judicial work for the 2026/2027 judicial year, taking into consideration the preferences of the Court’s members in a manner that serves the interests of the work.
