Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber inaugurated the major renovation works at the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Girls’ School (Preparatory – Secondary) in Nozha. The project was carried out at a total cost of approximately LE 3 million funded by the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Foundation in cooperation with the Sona'a El-Khair Foundation for Development. The project is part of joint efforts to improve the educational process and school environment.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Cairo Governor Eng. Mona El-Batrawi; Dr. Hemmat Abu Keila, Director of the Cairo Education Directorate; Mr. Mohammad Ali, CEO and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and Chairman of the Foundation’s Board; Dr. Marwa Murad, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Foundation; Mr. Hani Abdel Fattah, CEO of the Sona'a El-Khair Foundation; Dr. Hayam El-Tabbakh, member of the Foundation’s Advisory Board; and Dr. Mohammad Abdel Galil, Deputy CEO and Projects Director at the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Foundation.
Governor Saber said that upgrading schools across Cairo is a key priority for advancing the educational system. He praised the significant role played by civil society and the private sector in supporting efforts to improve the quality of services, particularly in education.
Saber also highlighted the importance of partnerships between government agencies, civil society, and the private sector in expanding school development projects.
The Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Girls’ School in Nozha serves about 1,600 students. It includes 24 classrooms, 12 administrative offices, three computer labs, and specialized laboratories for computing and chemistry.
The renovation works covered the entire school, including upgrades to water and sewage networks, painting, refurbishing desks, and equipping classrooms with complete desks. Renovation works included new sports facilities, such as football and volleyball courts to encourage student participation in physical activities and support diverse educational programs.
Moreover, Saber commended the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Foundation and the Sona'a El-Khair Foundation in implementing the development works. He added that such initiatives reflects the importance of partnerships between government agencies, civil society, and the private sector in promoting development plans and delivering high‑quality services to citizens.
