The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production has approved the announcement of the acceptance of a new batch of medical doctors holding Master’s and PhD degrees to serve as commissioned officers in the Armed Forces in a military capacity, as part of the January 2027 intake.
General Admission Requirements:
Candidates must successfully complete the training course at the Egyptian Military Academy, and the candidate, their parents, and grandparents must be Egyptian citizens and must not have acquired or applied for citizenship of another country. The candidate must not have previously been convicted of a felony or an offense involving moral turpitude and must have a good conduct record. The candidate must provide their military service status document, obtained from the Recruitment and Mobilization Administration or the recruitment office to which they belong. The candidate must be medically fit in accordance with the medical fitness requirements set by the General Military Medical Council. The candidate must successfully pass the psychological assessment tests and the personal interview (selection board), according to the evaluation of the examination committee. The candidate must submit written undertakings confirming full compliance with the conditions for appointment in a military capacity, with confirmation that all information provided in the admission documents on the basis of which the candidate was accepted remains accurate throughout their service in the Armed Forces (the appointment period). The candidate must wear the military uniform prescribed by the Armed Forces and must have completed military service or been exempted from it.
For medical doctors holding a Master’s degree, the candidate must not be over 34 years of age in January 2027, while those holding a PhD must not be over 38 years of age in January 2027. A minimum grade of “Good” is required in the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees, and the doctor must have completed the internship period.
Duration of Appointment in a Military Capacity and Benefits:
A ministerial decision will be issued appointing the candidate for a period of two years, renewable for one year at a time according to the needs of the Armed Forces. The commissioned officer will also be granted an experience certificate upon completion of the appointment period, along with a statement of their period of service in the Armed Forces to submit to their civilian employer so that it can be added to their service period upon retirement. The commissioned officer will also receive various benefits and services provided by the Armed Forces in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
Required Documents for Application:
A certified and stamped copy of the qualification certificates (Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, and internship certificate), a certified and stamped copy of the professional practice license, the original birth certificate, an original and copy of a recent criminal record certificate addressed to the Ministry of Defense, a family registration document, a copy of the marriage certificate for married applicants, a statement from the husband confirming his consent to the appointment, military service status document for male applicants, a certified copy of the appointment decision, an employment status statement, a certificate of good conduct from the employer, a copy of the candidate’s national ID card and the father’s national ID card, two 4×6 photographs, and one 10×15 cm portrait photograph.
It should be noted that applications for the collection of files will open at the Armed Forces Officers Affairs Department (Reserve and Commissioned Officers Branch) at the Strategic Command (Services Complex), starting Saturday, October 3, 2026.
