Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber honored 15 of the top female graduates of nursing institutes across Cairo Governorate during a ceremony held at Rod El-Farag General Hospital, in recognition of their academic excellence and to encourage them to continue their careers in the healthcare sector. The honorees were among 128 graduates who enrolled in various nursing faculties.
The governor was accompanied by Major General Omar El-Shafei, Deputy Governor for the Northern District; Dr. Tamer Madkour, Chairman of the General Health Insurance Authority; Dr. Ibrahim El-Dahshoury, Director of Rod El-Farag General Hospital; Dr. Omnia Samir, Director of Training and Schools at the Directorate; and several members of the House of Representatives.
Cairo has 19 nursing institutes established to support the healthcare sector with qualified nursing professionals, including two for males and the remainder for females.
Following the honoring ceremony, the Cairo Governor inaugurated the hospital’s inpatient department and its newly renovated blood bank, as well as the renovated nephrology department. He also reviewed several medical interventions performed on critical cases successfully treated by the hospital staff.
The governor also conducted an inspection tour of all hospital departments to ensure the provision of high-quality medical services to citizens and the availability of medical supplies and medications.
Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Cairo Governor, affirmed that the state places great importance on the healthcare sector and considers improving healthcare services a top priority, in line with the directives of the political leadership. He emphasized continued efforts to enhance service quality and provide citizens with the highest level of medical care, in support of the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt Vision 2030.
Rod El-Farag General Hospital covers an area of 5,000 square meters and has 120 beds, including 15 intensive care beds and 12 incubators. The hospital performs orthopedic surgeries, emergency operations, and gastrointestinal, urological and orthopedic endoscopies. It also includes kidney dialysis, orthopedic, maxillofacial, general surgery, urology, ENT, and gynecology units, in addition to clinics specializing in psychiatry and neurology, pediatric neurology, rheumatology and rehabilitation, physiotherapy, counseling, urology, maxillofacial surgery, and therapeutic nutrition.
