Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber attended the graduation ceremony of a new cohort of students from New Cairo Technological University for the 2025/2026 academic year, in the presence of Dr. Tarek Abdel Malak, President of New Cairo Technological University; Dr. Mohamed Watany, Advisor to the Supreme Council for Technological Education; as well as the university’s deans and faculty members.
Dr. Saber expressed his happiness at taking part in the occasion, which celebrates the fruits of education and a new generation of Egyptians who have chosen to contribute to shaping the future. He extended his sincere congratulations to the graduates and their families, as well as to the university administration and faculty members who played an essential role in reaching this milestone.
The Cairo Governor emphasized that the celebration reflects a national vision that places building and developing the capabilities of Egyptian citizens among its top priorities. He noted that the strength of nations is measured not only by the resources they possess, but also by the minds capable of investing those resources and turning them into achievements.
He pointed out that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has stressed the importance of continuing to develop the education system based on merit and excellence, linking educational outcomes to labor-market needs, and expanding efforts to identify and support talented individuals in order to build generations capable of competing and innovating across various fields.
The governor noted that technological universities offer educational pathways combining academic knowledge with practical training, giving students the opportunity to acquire skills required in a rapidly changing world. This aligns with the President’s directives to raise the scientific and professional standards of technical and technological education graduates and keep pace with the latest technological developments to meet growing labor-market needs.
Dr. Saber stressed that graduation is not merely an educational milestone, but also reflects the value of the path the students have chosen and the knowledge and skills they have acquired, as well as what they can contribute in the next stage of their careers.
He emphasized that Egypt needs not only people who possess knowledge, but also those who can turn that knowledge into useful work. He called for engineers who innovate, technicians who excel, innovators who find solutions, and young people who view every challenge as an opportunity to learn and achieve.
He added that this is the true value of technological education: producing graduates capable of contributing to production, keeping pace with development, and adding value wherever they work. He urged the graduates to use their specializations to serve their country, continue learning, develop their skills, and remain closely connected to the needs of society and the labor market.
The Cairo Governor also highlighted that Cairo, with its rich history and ongoing development efforts, needs the energy, ideas, and abilities of its graduates. He expressed his hope that they would contribute to the national development process in their respective fields, helping build a more advanced future, improve quality of life, and support Egypt’s development efforts.
At the conclusion of his remarks, Dr. Saber expressed his sincere appreciation to the graduates’ families for supporting them throughout their journey and sharing their dreams. He also praised the university administration, faculty members, and staff for their efforts in preparing the new cohort and supporting technological education, which represents an important avenue for developing qualified professionals.
