Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, witnessed this morning the signing of a contract to establish a factory for manufacturing various types of electric batteries. The contract was signed between BME Battery Manufacturing Company (BME)—an Egyptian company established by Motor Vehicle Manufacturing Company (MCV) and Auto D for Industry, Trade and Supplies—and China’s Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), the world’s largest electric battery manufacturer.
The contract was signed by Magued Wahib, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BME Battery Manufacturing Company, and Mr. Luo Haining, Director of International Investment at Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL).
The signing ceremony was attended by Eng. Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry; Eng. Amin Karim Ghabour, Project Manager; and Eng. Lotfy Tadros, Board Member of BME.
