Egypt’s U-20 Men’s Handball Team, born in 2006, was crowned African U-20 Champions for the second consecutive time after defeating Tunisia 31–29 in the final, which brought the two teams together last night in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Egyptian team staged an exciting comeback, overturning a three-goal deficit from the first half to secure a two-goal victory at the end of the match. Tunisia led 14–11 at halftime before the Young Pharaohs came back strongly in the second half, reducing the deficit, leveling the score, and then taking the lead.
The final minutes witnessed fierce competition between the two teams, as Tunisia attempted to fight its way back into the match. However, Egypt maintained its lead and secured a 31–29 victory to claim the continental title.
Egypt’s U-20 handball team had reached the final of the African Championship after securing a resounding 37–10 victory over Angola in the semifinals.
