Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, attended the “Makers of Tomorrow” employment fair, held in coordination between Cairo Governorate, the Cairo Directorate of Education (Technical Education), and the Cairo Directorate of Labor at the Advanced Technical School in East Nasr City. The fair brought together approximately 47 companies to recruit graduates of three-year technical schools, in order to meet the labor market’s needs in technical and industrial sectors.
The fair was attended by Eng. Mona El-Batrawy, Deputy Governor of Cairo for the Eastern District; Dr. Hemat Abu Keila, Director of the Cairo Directorate of Education; Mr. Fawzy Saber, Director of the Cairo Directorate of Labor; and Brigadier General Staff Zaki El-Gayar, Military Advisor to Cairo Governorate.
The fair aims to provide more than 1,500 job opportunities across various fields and specializations, including sales, accounting, marketing, administrative work, customer service, engineering, technical and industrial specializations, as well as the technology, telecommunications, mining, clothing and textile manufacturing, food, and trade sectors, among others. These fields meet labor market needs and provide diverse employment opportunities for technical education graduates.
The Governor of Cairo pointed out that employment fairs represent one of the important mechanisms for identifying the specializations in demand in the labor market and directly connecting technical education graduates with employers. This enhances employment opportunities and supports the state’s direction toward preparing qualified technical and technological personnel capable of contributing to increased production and achieving sustainable development.
The Governor of Cairo emphasized the importance of expanding technical and technological education schools and developing their educational systems to keep pace with the latest global developments and meet labor market needs. He noted that providing an advanced learning environment contributes to empowering students to innovate and be creative, developing their technical and vocational skills, and encouraging their continuous personal and professional development.
The Governor of Cairo added that focusing on practical and specialized training in accordance with the latest international standards, alongside providing students with opportunities to participate in technical, cultural, and sports activities, is an essential element in preparing well-rounded graduates who possess knowledge, skills, and the ability to innovate, enabling them to compete in the labor market and keep pace with its rapid changes.
The Governor of Cairo also highlighted the importance of expanding modern technological and industrial specializations, developing curricula in line with the needs of the production and service sectors, and strengthening cooperation with private-sector companies, development partners, and industrial institutions across various fields. This would achieve integration between education, training, and employment, while opening up promising career paths for young people.
