Labor Minister, Albanian Deputy Minister of Economy discuss boosting cooperation

On the sidelines of his participation in the 114th session of the International Labour Conference held in Geneva, Switzerland, Minister of Labour Hassan Raddad met with Olta Manjani, Deputy Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation of the Republic of Albania, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in the fields of labour, employment, and human resource development.

The two sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in supplying skilled Egyptian labor to meet the demands of the Albanian labor market, considering Egypt’s qualified workforce and diverse expertise across various economic and productive sectors.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of finalizing the proposed memoranda of understanding between the two countries. These agreements aim to establish an institutional framework for cooperation in labor and workforce mobility regulation, thereby serving mutual interests and creating new opportunities for bilateral collaboration.

The two leaders also explored collaboration on training and skills development, including mutual accreditation of occupational safety and health certificates through coordination between their countries’ relevant agencies and institutions, benefitting from expert centers and trainers. Such cooperation would boost workforce productivity and better align skills with the latest labour market requirements.

Minister Raddad said during the meeting that the Egyptian government, under the directives of the political leadership, is committed to strengthening cooperation with various friendly countries in the fields of employment, training, and skills development. Additionally, efforts are being made to open new labor markets for qualified Egyptian professionals. These initiatives support development efforts and provide decent job opportunities for Egyptian youth.
