The chairman of the National Organization for Social Insurance extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Prime Minister, members of the government, and the great Egyptian people on the anniversary of the June 30 Revolution. He also expressed his deep appreciation to President El-Sisi for his continuous support of the social protection system and his commitment to improving the living standards of pensioners. Awad affirmed that the president's directive to increase pensions by 15% as of July 1 reflects the state’s concern for most vulnerable groups and its efforts to strengthen social safety nets.
The chairman of the authority explained that the new pension increase will benefit approximately 11.5 million pensioners and beneficiaries, with an estimated annual cost of around 70 billion Egyptian pounds. He noted that the maximum amount of the increase is LE 2,505.
Awad stated that the Authority would complete all necessary procedures to disburse the approved increase on schedule, starting July 1, ensuring the regularity of the payment process and facilitating beneficiaries' access to their entitlements.
Moreover, Awad said the disbursement of pensions with the new increase will be carried out through banks, post offices, ATMs, and electronic wallets as part of a comprehensive plan aimed at expanding payment methods and providing more efficient, higher-quality services to pensioners and beneficiaries.
