Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber, accompanied by Dr. Salama Dawood, President of Al-Azhar University, attended the grand ceremony held at the University Council headquarters. The event was organized by Al-Azhar University under the patronage of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, to honor the recipients of the Al-Azhar and Al-Azhar University Awards for Scientific Excellence and Appreciation. The ceremony also recognized former presidents of Al-Azhar University and was attended by numerous university professors, scholars, researchers, deans, and faculty members.
The ceremony honored 25 faculty members, scholars, and researchers who received various university awards in recognition of their outstanding scientific and research contributions across diverse fields.
The celebration also honored former presidents of Al-Azhar University in recognition of their significant efforts in serving the university and advancing its educational and research systems, as well as their outstanding contributions that have strengthened Al-Azhar’s scientific standing locally, regionally, and internationally.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the Faculty of Education for Girls in Cairo, led by Dean Dr. Manal El-Khouli, inaugurated the fifth art exhibition featuring students from the Art Education Division. The exhibition, held in the lobby of the University Administration Building, showcased an impressive collection of artistic and creative works that highlighted the talents and skills of the students across various fields of fine arts.
During the event, Governor Saber and Dr. Salama Dawood toured the art exhibition pavilions and listened to explanations from the organizers about the participating works and the materials used in their creation.
Saber also stated that Al-Azhar University is a major beacon of science and thought, owing to its pioneering role in disseminating knowledge, promoting moderate and centrist ideas, and preparing generations capable of contributing to nation-building and serving society. He commended its ongoing efforts to support scientific research and foster excellence.
