Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber congratulated citizens on the national team’s historic qualification for the Round of 16 in the World Cup for the first time, noting that the players delivered an outstanding performance and deserved their victory.
Governor Saber also congratulated the national team players and coaching staff for this historic accomplishment, saying it demonstrates their determination and loyalty and proves Egyptians can achieve remarkable successes under the Egyptian flag.
The governor made these remarks while watching the national team’s match against Australia with citizens at the Rod El-Farag Youth Center. The match ended with the national team winning 4–2 in penalty kicks.
