The Chamber of Tourist Goods and Souvenir Shops, headed by Ali Ghoneim, has requested all member shops and bazaars to complete and update their employee databases through the electronic portal. This will enable the chamber to issue the “Unified Tourist ID Card” for workers in tourism establishments for 2027. The chamber emphasized that registering the required data is an essential condition for benefiting from chamber services and renewing annual membership.
Ali Ghoneim, Chairman of the Chamber and a member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Tourism Chambers, stated that the creation of a unified database for workers in tourism establishments was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Information Technology Sector and the Tourism and Antiquities Police Sector, as well as the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Central Administration for Supervision of Hotel Establishments, Shops, and Tourism Activities. The initiative aims to ensure the security and stability of the tourism sector, provide the best tourism services, and protect workers themselves from unauthorized individuals entering the profession.
Ghoneim confirmed that bazaars that have previously registered on the system must review the entered data, complete any missing information, and remove the names of workers who are no longer employed. All updates must be completed no later than August 15, 2026.
The Chamber Chairman called on shops that have not yet registered to promptly visit the offices of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in the tourist governorates. A representative of the establishment, carrying an official authorization from the legal representative, should obtain the username and password required to access the database and begin registering employees.
The Chamber Chairman stressed the importance of entering accurate data, including:
National ID number
Recent personal photo in JPG format
Full four-part name as stated on the national ID card
Mother’s full three-part name according to the birth certificate
Address registered on the national ID card
Uploading copies of the national ID card and birth certificate to the system
He confirmed that all submitted data will be subject to careful review and verification by the Ministry of Interior. The Chamber warned that entering incorrect or misleading information constitutes the submission of false data to official authorities, which may expose the offender to legal accountability. He also explained that the establishment will bear the cost of reprinting the security ID card if a card is issued with incorrect information or is not collected.
Ghoneim called on all members to fully comply with the instructions and quickly complete the required data, allowing the printing of the ID cards to begin through the Police Printing Presses.
