Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber inspected the progress of the project to expand a main water supply line with a diameter of 1,200 mm. The project, carried out by the Cairo Drinking Water Company, extends over a length of 8 km, starting from the intersection of the Middle Ring Road with the Corniche El-Nil and continuing to the Tebbin district. This project aligns with the state's plan to support infrastructure and upgrade the efficiency of drinking water services in southern districts, benefiting residents of the 15th of May, Helwan, and Tebbin neighborhoods, as well as several areas in Giza Governorate.
During the tour, Governor Saber reviewed the project's execution rates and directed officials to intensify work while adhering to the approved schedule. He stressed the importance of organizing the execution phases to reduce the effect on traffic flow, avoiding widening excavation areas before finishing work and fully restoring the sections already under construction.
Moreover, the governor instructed that areas under construction be restored to their original condition immediately after the pipeline expansion work is completed. Additionally, the project's surroundings will be improved by repaving roads, upgrading public lighting, planting green spaces and trees along the roadway, and enhancing sidewalks and curbstones. These measures aim to improve the area's visual appeal and elevate the quality of services provided to citizens.
Governor Saber further instructed district chiefs and executing authorities to conduct regular field inspections and work around the clock to complete the project according to the highest quality standards. He also ordered the removal of any encroachments or obstructions that may impede progress or restrict pedestrian flow.
Saber also stated that the governorate regularly monitors infrastructure development projects because of their role in enhancing the quality of life and providing better services to citizens.
The governor was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Ashraf Manour, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, and officials from the Cairo Governorate.
