Education Ministry clarifies reports of changes to third preparatory grade exam question format

The Ministry of Education and Technical Education has denied social media posts circulating on Facebook claiming that the exam question format for the Third Preparatory Grade (General, Vocational, and Sports tracks) has been changed, or that the total score for the Preparatory Certificate has been set at 320 marks.

The viral post also claimed that a new translation question had been added to the foreign language exam paper.

It further stated that the subjects not included in the final overall score for the Preparatory Certificate are Religious Education, Art Education, and Computer Studies, that no other subjects would be considered, that each non-counted subject would consist of 20 questions, and that students would be required to score at least 70% of the total marks in each of these subjects to pass.

The Ministry confirmed that the circulating post is fake and inaccurate, emphasizing that it has not issued any decision or official announcement regarding these claims.

The Ministry also urged parents not to be misled by such false posts, which are intended to create confusion among students, parents, and teachers. It stressed that all official decisions and ministerial announcements are issued only through the Ministry's authorized official channels.
