Finance Min.: New incentives to encourage irregular workers to enroll in social insurance

Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk stated that the ministry is preparing a package of incentives to encourage irregular workers to join the social protection system. He added that the effort focuses on three main pillars: incentives, coordination among government entities, and raising awareness of the benefits the participants in the insurance system would have. He also confirmed the ministry’s readiness to contribute to developing an integrated incentive package.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dr Mustafa Madbouli held a meeting to discuss initiatives aimed at encouraging irregular workers, freelancers, and Egyptians living abroad to benefit from the social protection system.

The meeting was attended by Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance; Dr Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity; Hassan Raddad, Minister of Labour; Gamal Awad, Head of the National  Organization for Social Insurance ; and several officials.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister Madbouli stated that this step aligns with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in this regard. He added that this package of incentives helps these groups access a comprehensive package of social and health benefits provided by the state.

Madbouli emphasized the government’s commitment to integrating all targeted groups into the social insurance system, ensuring social stability, boosting productivity, and providing a fair and stable work environment that supports the pillars of sustainable development.
