General Supervisor of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities Dr Eman Karim discussed the plan to develop the Council’s official website with the project’s technical team, emphasizing it as a key component of the ongoing institutional development project.
This plan is part of the "Strengthening the Human and Institutional Capacities of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities to Promote the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Egypt" project. The project is funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Italian Government through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). It is being implemented by AICS in partnership with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities.
The three-year project aims to strengthen the Council’s institutional capacity by developing internal systems and procedures, supporting digital transformation, and building staff capabilities. These efforts contribute to improving the quality of services provided to persons with disabilities and enhancing institutional performance and efficiency.
The meeting featured a presentation of the proposed vision for developing the Council’s official website. Moreover, it addressed its objectives and target audiences. It also included a review of the website’s current status and an identification of key challenges and opportunities to enhance the user experience, with a focus on digital accessibility requirements to ensure ease of use for individuals with various disabilities, in accordance with international digital accessibility standards.
During the meeting, Karim stated that the Council’s official website is one of the most important communication channels for persons with disabilities, their families, and relevant partners. She added that its development will help improve access to information and services, as well as enhance communication with beneficiaries.
Karim further said that the development process aims to create a more accessible and interactive digital platform, enabling people with disabilities to easily access information and services. It will also improve the efficiency of receiving and following up on complaints and suggestions, as part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to enhance its institutional services.
She concluded by emphasizing that the development of the Council’s official website is part of a series of interventions implemented by the project to support the Council’s institutional development and enhance its capacity to deliver services that are more efficient, accessible, and sustainable.
