Cairo, which is marking its 1057th National Day, was founded by Commander Jawhar Al-Siqilli during the reign of the Fatimid Caliph Al-Muizz li-Din Allah on July 6, 969 AD.

Cairo is one of the oldest cities in the world, having witnessed numerous civilizations throughout its history. It features Pharaonic, Roman, Byzantine, Coptic, and Islamic monuments, making it a global destination for tourism, culture, and the arts, as well as a hub for business, investment, trade, and science. It is also known as the "City of a Thousand Minarets" because of its abundant mosques.
